Rati Tsiteladze

Rati Tsiteladze is a European Film Academy Award-nominated filmmaker, visual artist, actor, and former World Champion in martial arts. He is the founder of ArtWay Film, a boutique production company dedicated to artist-driven, visually immerisve, and socially conscious cinema.

He first gained recognition as a martial artist, becoming a World and European Champion before transitioning into acting and Visual Art. Rati studied at the Hybrid Conservatory in Los Angeles and went on to star in the Ukrainian–Georgian TV series Paradox, appear on Dancing with the Stars in Georgia, and play the lead English-language role in the Dutch feature film BO.

Rati turned to filmmaking as a means of self-discovery and to give voice to stories often silenced by society. His work has been presented at over 300 international festivals and platforms, including Locarno, Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Sarajevo, earning more than 50 awards worldwide. His short film "PRISONER OF SOCIETY" (2018), received multiple Oscar-qualifying festival awards and was nominated for a European Film Academy Award. .

His artistic approach emphasizes intimate, immersive experiences, often blending documentary observation with expressive visual and sound design. He investigates themes of personal freedom, social constraints, and the body as a medium of expression. His work have been recognized for pushing boundaries in visual storytelling and for creating empathetic, layered portrayals of marginalized communities.

Rati is an alumnus of Locarno Academy, TIFF Filmmaker Lab, Berlinale Talents, and Cannes Résidence, and has participated in artist residencies at MuseumsQuartier, Vienna, where he explored video installation and experimental narrative forms.

Rati was awarded the Moulin d’Andé Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and received the HFPA Film Independent Award from the Golden Globes at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
